A podcast with Ernest Prakasa on Indonesian Film
It was quite intimidating talking about a topic which I am still a newbie in with the producer of the country’s top grossing film this year.
I became a commissioner for Visinema, a film and entertainment company a year ago and was invited to give an outsider's perspective on the film industry.
We discussed a few topics that I found worth highlighting:
1. My first experience being in a film set, only to find out that each bullet fired cost more than I expected.
2. Why Indonesia’s film industry is still so early
3. Thailand as a comparison has a 3 trillion IDR industry of being the place to shoot movies for Hollywood, Bollywood, and Chinese studios
4. Why do we need more experienced professionals in non creative fields like HR, finance, and marketing.
